Welcome to the TJHSST Band Boosters Web Site. The TJHSST Band Boosters support all TJHSST bands by organizing the necessary volunteers and providing additional funds to ensure a great experience for the students of The Thomas Jefferson High School for Science & Technology.

TJMC - STATE CHAMPIONS - 2009

USSBA State Finals at Salem VA

A fitting and crowning finale for a great year for TJMC - They scored 92.5 and also secured some caption awards (first in Visual, Overall Effect, and Percussion) and are crowned STATE CHAMPIONS at the USSBA State Finals at Salem Stadium in Salem, VA.

Congratulations to all the hard work by TJMC students. You all truly deserved the honors.

Congratulations and thanks to Ms. Ulrey, Mr. Steve Ballard and Ms. Samantha Ballard and their colleagues behind the scenes for all their hard work.

THANKS to all the band parent chaperones who have dedicated so much of their time and tirelessly helped in the band activities - home games, away games, competition trips and booster activities - all through the year.

  • Winter Showcase Planning Meeting: March 10th, 2010 at 6:30pm in Principal's conference room.

  • District Band Festival: at Westfield High School, Chantilly. Symphonic Band - March 11th, 2010; SWE - March 12th, 2010.

  • Winter Showcase: March 13th, 2010 3:00pm.

  • Monthly Band Booster Meeting: First Tuesday of the month at 6:30pm in Principal's conference room.

Current Fundraisers

  • Virtual Tag Day: Virtual tag letters were mailed last week to all current band families who haven't already made a donation this year. Your generosity will help keep fees down, making our quality band program more affordable for all families. Check to see if your employer will match your donation. Download letter from here ; you are encouraged to send or give copies to relatives, neighbors, or friends who might be interested in contributing. Donations can be sent to Henry Ruempler, 5415 Waycross Dr, Alexandria, VA 22310.

  • License Plate Frames: Order from TJBB either a TJ class year frame or customize your own license plate frame. Pictures and details are available here .

  • Spirit wear -- Dark gray, lightweight, hooded sweatshirts, white "TJ Bands" lettering. Sizes M, L, XL--$25. Red hooded sweatshirts--$10 while remaining supply lasts. "I'm With the Band" t-shirts, $12.00 each. Navy drawstring bags, white "TJ Bands" lettering. Wear like a backpack, $10.
